Jim Ferguson

Famous Seamus are delighted to be working with Glaswegian folk devil, Dr. Jim Ferguson. Jim is a respected (if controversial) writer and performer who has been successfully plying his trade for decades.

He was born in 1961 and has been writing and publishing since 1986. He has written a significant back catalogue of well-received work, as well as pieces for anthologies, journals and literary magazines.

In 2001 he was ‘Poet Laureate’ of the Scotia bar in Glasgow and has taught creative writing at several Scottish education establishments.

Jim is a prolific, vibrant, enthusiastic and compelling live performer. He is most often found gigging in his native Scotland.

When Feeling Fully At Home In The Drifting Living Room Of Time

This collection shows Ferguson at his best as a writer of sequential poems that work through a gradual accumulation of meaning to leave memorable pictures in the mind of the reader. It brings together work from pamphlets Strong Drink, Songs to Drown a Million Souls and My Bonnie Scotland with new and unpublished poems. It stands as a companion volume to 'For Eva' also published by Famous Seamus and covers the period 1986 to 2017.
